|奇木山子其作为文玩的历史，要晚于石山，但至少在北宋年间，木山子已是文人士大夫阶层钟爱之雅物，是为文房厅堂间绝尘妙设，据《宋史•礼志十六》载：“大中祥符，六年七月二十九日，诏辅臣观粟于后苑御山子。”明代袁宏道在《饮徐参议园亭》亦有诗曰：“药栏斜布置，山子幻生成。”《儒林外史》第四十回：“三间楠木厅，一个大院落，堆满了太湖石的山子。”|摆件以天然奇木为材，随形而作，形制高雅俊秀，身有曲洞倚伴，以自然之貌示人，似供石矗立，舒卷多姿，灵动而不失之气韵，可作山石般陈设，亦为珍藏之宝。||备注：帯石盆
