Cloisonne was originally an important branch of Western antique art. It was introduced to China by merchants and missionaries in the early Ming Dynasty. Since it reached its peak in JingTai period of Ming Dynasty , it was later named Cloisonne (JingTaiLan). The features of its manufacture are that the copper bottle is embedded with filaments and then filled with natural mineral pigments between the filaments. The complexity of the manufacturing process can only be imagined. Due to the limitations of technology at that time, the fineness of cloisonne products in Ming Dynasty are not as good as those in Qianlong period. However, it reflects people’s sense of aesthetics from that period of time. The artifacts should have been introduced into the United States in the 1950s. Although it had been transformed into a table lamp, the artisan did not destroy its integrity, and to a great extent, retained the original shape.
