笔架亦称笔格、笔搁，即架笔之物也，中国传统文房常用器具之一。书画时在构思或暂息藉以置笔，以免毛笔圆转污损他物，为古人书案上最不可缺少之文具。笔架的材质一般为瓷、木、紫砂、铜、铁、玉、象牙、水晶无不具备。其中实用性的笔架以瓷、铜、铁最为普遍，观赏性的则以玉笔架最为典型。此件笔架则以和田玉籽料为材，玉色稍泛灰，然其油性佳美，作者立体雕琢为达摩造型，作斜卧状，一手置于腿上，一手轻抚玉兔，将飘逸的衣衫幻化为搁笔之处，颇为精妙。此作既可作为笔架，亦可，作为镇纸、雅玩，把玩于手，文气十足。樊军民：中国工艺美术大师，中国玉石雕刻大师款识：兑艮
