Silk with multi-colored silk threads, plain black silk hem borders, backside silk lining (black collar only) China, around 1900 The first collar in this lot shows a black silk background and is neatly stitched in Peking knot technique with butterflies, birds, flowers and fruits as well as a tiger’s head. The second collar shows a light orange background with a satin stitch swastika décor and a total of eight reserves with auspicious fruits and flowers, executed in Peking stitch technique.
