A Chinese famille rose-decorated porcelain "Millefleurs" part dinner service qianlong six character marks but guangxu period Comprising a 14 1/2" dia. serving dish, a 9 1/2" dia shallow bowl, a coffee cup and saucer, nine teacups, 14 saucers, eleven 8 1/4" plates, eight 4 3/4" bowls, an 11 1/2" punch bowl, 17 6 3/4" plates, twelve 10" plates, twelve 9" plates. PROVENANCE: Dr. Robert Baker Ewan (1862-1926) and his wife Sarah Jane Lewthwaite (1861-1941), missionaries in Chengdu, circa 1900-1914. (Dr Ewan played a key role in establishing the Medical School at West China Union University.) Thence by descent to the great-grandchildren, the present owners.
