An incredibly rare pea green bag form vase is derived from the enamel vases. The term "bag" in Chinese has the same pronunciation as 'Baofu,' which means happiness and good fortune and the shape has been utilized in a homophonic punintended to bring such good qualities and forutne. This piece has a unique shape and design, the soft folds of fabric gathering at the short neck have been bound together with a thin raised ribbon. Painted with under glazed blue, red andwhite, one face has rising stalks of bamboo and on the reverse of chrysanthemums with delicate petals on the top of pea green ground, which is full of literati temperament.
