|麻子坑是端砚名坑之一。清代乾隆年间开采，据传为一个脸上有麻子的陈姓采石工所发现，故名。麻子坑砚石在端砚名坑中，仅次于水岩砚石，可与坑仔岩砚石相媲美。麻子坑砚石物质成分为泥质、绢云母与硅质三者胶结而成，并含有少量的氢氧化铁、石英、绿泥石等。麻子坑砚石质地坚实、幼嫩、细腻。石品花式有鱼脑冻、青花、蕉叶白、火捺等。石眼较多，有名贵的鸲鹆眼、鹦哥眼、凤眼等。此为麻子坑素身端砚，带原配紫檀盒。||来源：国营文物店旧藏。
