印文：“为学曰益为道曰损”|边款：“甲午六月牧甫” |黄牧甫（1849-1908），安徽黟县人，原名士陵，字牧甫，亦作穆甫、穆父，后以字行。晚年别署黟山人、倦叟、倦游窠主。精篆刻，初学浙派、吴讓之、赵之谦，后取法汉人，脱胎而出自貌。印文秀劲而富有变化，布局峻险中寓平稳，有超逸之趣。用刀犀利，所作印面不事残破，极尽真率之感。
