U.S. Navy christening champagne bottle holder, Second World War silver plate "LST-357 launched Charleston Navy Yard December 14 1942, LST-357 tank leading ship commissioned February of 1943, saw service at the invasion of Sicily July 1943 salami landings September 1943 and landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day, she was decommissioned June 1946. Note: Dent on side from striking the ship, 14" H (excluding rope) x approx. 4" diameter. Provenance: Newton, Massachusetts estate.
