A SPANISH COLONIAL TOOLED LEATHER MILITARY HAT late 18th/early 19th century Possibly from the Dragóns de Cuera, the crown decorated with a frieze of soldiers in 18th century military frock coats with spears, the brim tooled with scrolling foliate arabesques. H: 8, Dia: 25 in. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Ambassador and Mrs. Alexander Weddell, Richmond, Virginia. Deaccessioned by The Virginia House Museum to benefit future preservation, acquisitions, and care of collections.
