赵朴初，1907年11月5日生于安庆，卓越的佛教领袖、杰出的书法家、著名的社会活动家与伟大的爱国主义者。中国佛教协会会长，中国佛学院院长，中国藏语系高级佛学院顾问，中国宗教和平委员会主席。曾任上海市政协委员、常委，上海市人大代表。是第一、二、三、四、五届全国人大代表。2000年5月21日因病在北京逝世，享年93岁。|
