是书为清代著名学者，大书法家吴大澄自辑自刻，全文皆由吴氏亲笔上版，书法劲健，版风儒雅，尤其是书中记录的大量古字，均为依原拓本摹写，字划婉转流畅，可传毫素。书内多记当时新出土钟鼎彝器款识，兼收石鼓文、古币、古陶器文，多有文献价值。此书按《说文解字》体例编排，对研究古文字有重要价值。文字学泰斗裘锡圭先生曾专为此书写过介绍文章，认为《说文古籀补》是20世纪最忠实古文字原字形的一部字书。光绪十年刻本
