此种折沿洗器形仿自阿拉伯铜器，瓷质者始烧于明代永乐。据《清宫造办处活计清档》记载，雍正、乾隆皇帝曾多次下旨命令烧造仿永宣青花瓷器，本件作品即为一例。本器胎质雪白，造型、纹饰构图、绘画技法均仿自明永乐时期同类器，但在外壁缠枝花卉的处理上一改永乐疏朗潇洒的绘画风格，而更趋向于规整细密的缠枝莲纹，密而不乱，错落有致。兼之青花发色深沈，局部以重笔点染，层次丰富，既追摹永宣风骨，又具清代细致工丽的绘画特点，由此可知此器为清代仿古之佳作。参阅：1.《故宫藏传世瓷器真赝对比历代古窑址标本图录》第87页，图61；2.《故宫博物院藏明初青花瓷（上）》图28。
