插屏为清代重要的宫廷陈设品，常陈设于几案之上。此件插屏屏心以白玉为材，两面以多层浮雕技法琢刻“仙山访友”图，极富立体感。屏心正面高浮雕山石树木、房屋亭台，小桥流水等景，相联为一幅完整的画面：桥上为一老者携童子拜访友人，半山腰处主人已恭候门外，三者皆拱手作揖，人物表情各异，生动自然；屏心背面雕琢仙山自然之景：山石嶙峋、苍松翠柏，祥云缭绕于亭台间，更烘托其意境悠然恬淡。插屏两面所雕山水人物，表现出山林洞府间的静谧恬然，整体构图生动，景物远近有致，细细观之仿佛徜徉于灵秀山水之中，使人仿若置身仙境，令人陶醉。此插屏原配硬木基座完好。
