The bowl is decorated on the exterior with four medallions enclosing the characters 'Fo Ri Chang Ming', in the meaning of 'the light of Buddha shine eternally' in blue enamel and reserved on a pink diaper ground, alternating with lotus scroll supporting vajras painted in iron red, all reserved on a bright yellow ground. The base is inscribed with four-character seal mark in underglaze blue.
