黄慎（1687-约1770），初名盛，字公懋、躬懋，康熙六十年更名慎，雍正四年改字恭寿，别号瘿瓢山人，简称瘿瓢、瘿瓢子，福建宁化县人，定居扬州。工诗，善草书，尤擅人物、花鸟、山水，气象雄伟，自创一格，对后世人物画影响很大。山水取法倪、黄，写意花卉神韵生动，得荒率之致。擅长草书，学怀素兼取孙过庭、颜鲁公笔法，自辟蹊径，形成独特风格。为“扬州八怪”之一。 款识：瘿瓢子。钤印：：瘿瓢（白）黄慎（朱）
