2 Chinese 19 Century Jades, possibly earlier: the first an Archaistic 2 Part Belt Buckle with Taotie Masks and a small Dragon Head Hook, the reverse of each part with a button carved with a Yinyang symbol; together with a translucent pale celadon jade Lotus leaf and Lotus root Pendant, the stems forming a suspension loop, on old hardwood stand. Light age related wear. Length of archaistic belt hook together and lotus pendant each 3 1/4 inches (8.2 cm.). PROVENENCE: Brought back from early 20 century China by the missionary couple working in Guangdong Province, Clarence Lucius Foster (1878-1955) and Ruth Bailhache Smith Foster (1886-1972), and gifted within the immediate family.
