王梅鄰，清乾隆、嘉庆时人，又名王恒，字茂林，上海嘉定人。为竹刻名家王之羽曾孙。年轻时入赘南翔徐氏，恰与吴之阣为邻，志同道合，“日从鲁珍游，尽得其运腕之法，故名冠一时”（《竹人绿》）。梅邻自幼承家学，善刻花卉，尤善刻小楷。
