此香筒紫檀为材，色泽沉润幽深，皮壳包浆浓厚，极具分量感。上下配象牙盖底，深浅色泽搭配和谐雅致。两端以云雷纹为边，中部铲地阳文平雕，纹与地皆平。筒身镂空雕刻螭龙纹，昂首奋鬣，张吻吐舌，俯仰相向，身尾跂足，蜿蜒环转，布满全筒。雕刻刀法流畅，尤其在处理鬣髪时，以极细密的阴刻一气呵成，毫无停滞。龙身打磨圆润，抚之柔润适手。本品与王世襄旧藏明代竹雕双螭纹透雕香筒极为相似，为木雕香筒之佳作。相似例可参见香港苏富比一例，售出于2015年10月7日，编号3763。参阅：香港苏富比，2015年10月7日，编号3763
