骑羊护法是藏传佛教特有的护法形象，这种本土神祇在佛典上是找不到来源的，藏语中称为“唐坚噶瓦那波”，汉语可称为“守哲黑铁匠神”，其坐骑为一只大山羊，山羊是其生命的依附之处。童子身穿长袍足登靴子，双目圆睁。有时戴骷髅冠，有时戴藏式圆盔笠帽。作为护法神时，右手高举金刚杵，左手当胸持骷髅碗；作为铁匠神时，两手平举，右手举铁锤，左手持虎皮风箱，铁锤和风箱是铁匠的工具。
