(19.1 x 24.1cm) PROVENANCE: Richard S. Shere, St. Petersburg, Florida. Private Collection (acquired directly from the above in 1988). Express Marine, Inc., Camden, New Jersey. note: This photograph, originally taken in 1937 won Sam Shere the Editor and Publisher award for the best news picture. He said of the photo: "I had two shots in my big Speed Graphic [his camera] but I didn't even have time to get it up to my eye. I literally 'shot' from the hip--it was over so fast there was nothing else to do."
