A marine chronometer, c.1820, the 4in silvered dial inscribed 'Barraud, Cornhill, London 126/995', with subsidiary seconds dial and power reserve indicator in an arched aperture, with a chained hand adjustment key and automatic winder, fitted on a gimbal to its mahogany inner case, which has brass handles, a glass viewing panel and a blank circular ivory plaque, the outer carrying case with an oval ivory plaque inscribed 'Barraud Chronometer Manufacturer No. 4 Cornhill, London' with leather strap, inner case 16.5cm (6½in) high, 16cm (6½in) square outer case 23.5 (9¼in) high, 24cm (9½in) square Condition report: Both cases restored and repolished. Purple padding to outer case has holes, probably from moths. Leather strap renewed
