五子戏弥勒为民间传说，五子分别代表民间五种人物，即好财、好色、好名、好食、好睡五种人，他们拉拢戏弄弥勒，但弥勒不为之所动，意为佛菩萨心静如水，不为色欲所动。此拍品以竹为材，呈红褐色，手感莹润光洁，色泽温和有致，工匠因材施艺圆雕而成。弥勒面相饱满，善目凝视，身着宽袖长衣，袒胸露腹，手握佛珠，盘坐于地，五个孩童攀爬于其身。整品刀功流畅，所雕人物灵活生动，包浆见古，实为佳作。来源：1、法国藏家旧藏。2、北京保利2010春Lot4574
