器为水盂，通体造型为一只自然雄浑的辟邪。辟邪为古代神话神兽，《急就篇》：辟邪除群凶。唐颜师注：辟邪，神兽名。辟邪，言能辟御妖邪也。 此物精铜错银丝镶嵌金，神兽作伏状，纹路古朴流畅，形象栩栩，体现了铜器错银制作工艺的超凡水平。工艺高超，身与肢充满力量，仿佛有一触即发的动势。 立体造型，躯干起伏，将辟邪形象表现得极其生动传神，从不同的角度观赏此器，具能呈现生动画面。作为铜错银工艺的典范，此器堪称登峰造极。
