墨床，亦称墨架、墨台，是专门用来承搁墨锭的小案架。墨磨后湿润，乱放容易玷污他物，故制墨床以搁墨。此件墨床取紫檀原材一截整挖雕琢而制，就材施艺，质地细密，纹丝质理细若牛毛，色黑如漆。墨床雕镂竹节纹，细微处亦纤毫毕现，神韵凝于方寸之间。紫檀纹理清晰，包浆自然莹润，构思奇巧，惑作精湛，雅趣怡然，是清代紫檀文房用品之佳作。
