边款：人所已为之事，而我后为之，我所为易于人所为矣；人所分为之事，而我独为之，我所为难于人所为矣。海上名人之有印谱也，人不一人，谱不一谱，宗派不同，章法各异，要皆各造其极，自成一家，好古者兼收并蓄，沿流溯源，诚不难得其神妙处，特卷帙甚伙，荟萃不易。余友祥生有道，慧镜当胸，智珠在握，以居海上，酷爱金石，凡获印谱之佳者，无论昔贤今哲，辄求得而宝贵之，搜罗既富思，欲都为一册，以集大成而饷后学，属余镌章志之。余因叹祥生用心之苦，用力之深，不欲苟为其易，而不惮好为其难，镌讫为志数语，以伸佩服。祥生其以余为知音否。吴隐。
