纸本立轴何镜涵（1923-2008）号君望，别名少民，满族，北京人。生于满族书香世家，良好的传统文化氛围，对何老的艺术人生有着及其重要影响。何老自幼天资聪慧，受其父熏陶，琴棋书画均有涉猎，尤喜爱中国画并阅读大量古典书籍，积累了深厚的学养。他与徐燕荪、王雪涛、溥雪斋、吴光宇、吴镜仃、蒋兆和等著名画家友谊甚厚，非师即友。何先生与王雪涛先生合作出版连环画《炮大哥》，也与吴光宇、吴镜仃等先生合作绘制《首都之春》大幅山水，并给古典文学故事画了大量插图。1957年，年仅36岁的何镜涵被原北京中国画院（现北京画院）聘为终生画师。从此他在中国画创新的征程上迈出了坚定而有力的步伐。
