笔架亦称笔格、笔搁，即架笔之物也，传统文房常用器具之一。 书画时在构思或暂息藉以置笔，以免毛笔圆转污损他物，为古人书案上最不可缺少之文具。笔架的材质一般为瓷、木、紫砂、铜、铁、玉、象牙、水晶无不具备。玉笔架有山形者、卧仙者、旧玉子母猫、十二峰头为格者、也有单螭起伏为格者；瓷则有哥窑三山五山者、 白定卧花娃；木则有老树根枝蟠屈万状；石者有峰岚起伏者。此笔架则以玉为材，质细腻润泽，白度亦佳，留些许白皮，毛孔尤为自然。笔架取自于浪花之形状，一条鱼则跃出水面，随波逐流。浪花线条颇具张力，以写意手法来表现，独具匠心。杨菊青：苏州玉雕名家
