Long Hand Scroll Depicting a Palace Garden Scene, China, in the manner of Qiu Ying (c. 1494-1552), with a lotus pond and pavilions occupied with court ladies and servants in various activities, the walled garden decorated with trees, strange rocks, flowers, and cranes, inscribed at the left end "Shifu Qiu Ying mo jing yuan Zhou Fang bi" (Qiu Ying copying after the Greatest Zhou Fang), followed by two colophons: one by "Wen Peng" (1498-1573), dated "1531" with a seal, the other "Wang Guxiang" (1501-1568) with a seal, various seals of the collector Xiang Yuanbian (1525-1590) at the beginning and end, ink and mineral colors on silk, painting approx. 16 x 130, colophons approx. 16 x 45 in.
