|石质||弥勒菩萨（梵文：Maitreya；巴利文：Metteyya）意译为慈氏，音译为梅呾利耶，是释迦牟尼佛的继任者，将在未来娑婆世界降生成佛，成为娑婆世界的下一尊佛，在贤劫千佛中将是第五尊佛，常被尊称为当来下生弥勒尊佛或弥勒佛。一般图像学上，弥勒主要依据所著衣饰分为两类：一者，着佛装之弥勒佛。二者，着菩萨装之弥勒菩萨，本尊造像属于后者。弥勒菩萨区别于其他尊神的特征主要体现在坐姿上。自隋唐以降，无论是弥勒佛还是弥勒菩萨，工匠在制作时通常将其表现为善跏趺坐的特殊坐姿，其端坐于座上，两腿自然下垂，以其作为迎接世人往生兜率净土和下生成佛的特有标识。
