A party celebrates exuberantly in a restaurant. Some men wear wreaths. In the middle sits a woman in a red skirt with a hand on her hips and a pipe in the other, watching the hustle and bustle. In the front right, a man is kissing a young woman on his knees. At the left edge of the picture, a drinker raises his glass of beer. These people stand out in color through their clothing, while the other figures are integrated into the brown tonality. There is a lot of disorder and in the front right, an unsupervised child is helping himself at the beer barrel. Jan Steen introduced the humorous depiction of chaotic celebrations and households as a motif in Haarlem's painting. Signed, oil on canvas 45 x 49 cm
