此玉炉选用和田玉精心雕琢而成。玉料体积较大，质量上乘，远观宝光盈盈，近触温润有加。外表如凝脂般莹洁通透，泛着美玉特有的柔润光泽。炉唇口短颈，丰肩鼓腹，两侧生出朝冠耳，耳中间以玉管相连，下承三足。炉身通体雕饕餮纹，口缘内侧一圈有凹槽，适巧能与炉盖扣合，炉盖上亦雕琢饕餮纹饰。作覆斗式盖钮，透雕螭龙，小巧精致设计巧妙。整器工艺娴熟精细，掏膛爽利，打磨精良，作工规矩，置于案头观之，极富古拙雅致之感。
