A "HAPPY MEMORIES" SILVER BOX China, c. 1920. Neatly engraved with a majestic dragon on the lid as well as on the narrow sides, the center of the hinged lid incised with Chinese characters "Happy memories". With an elegant thumb lift opening and lined with wood on the inside. The base stamped with three hallmarks. Condition: Good condition with expected surface wear and minor scratches. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik Istvan Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. Istvan Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
