A MASSIVE AND RETICULATED SILVERED COPPER CEREMONIAL SCEPTER INLAID WITH JADE, TURQUOISE AND CORAL, LATE QING Tibetan-Chinese, late Qing dynasty (1644-1912), the jades possibly earlier. The exceptionally large scepter elaborately open-worked with a design of flowers and scrolling leafy vines, the reverse neatly incised with scrolling clouds. Finely inlaid with turquoise and coral cabochons, as well as three finely carved celadon jade plaques, the largest with a central Shou character surrounded by coiled chilong, also with a bat and a lingzhi-shaped cloud as well as russet inclusions, the second with a Shou character surrounded by five bats (wufu), the smallest with a sinuously coiled chilong. Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and manufacturing flaws, few minuscule nicks, occasional light scratches, soiling. Provenance: Private collection, Belgium.
