A PAIR OF BLUE AND WHITE 'LADY IN GARDEN' LOBED DISHES, KANGXI China, Kangxi period (1662-1722). Each with ten-lobed sides rising from a short foot to an everted rim, painted in underglaze blue to the interior with a central decagonal medallion enclosing a woman seated by a table next to a potted plant, encircled by lappets enclosing the lady in a fenced garden as well as flowers and leaves, the exterior with flowers on leafy scrolling vines, the recessed base with a single-character mark within a double circle. Condition: One dish drilled for wall mounting, otherwise in good condition with minor wear, few small frits, and firing irregularities, the other with several cracks with old stapling. Provenance: From an old family collection in Pressburg, Austrian Empire, Slovakia, and thence by descent to the present owner. Weight: 159 and 175 g Dimensions: Diameter 17 cm and 17.1 cm
