A CHINESE TABLE LAMP ERNST FUCHS MODEL China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) the vase; 1970s the electrification, lampshade, and mounting. The baluster vase painted in underglaze blue with dense interlocking flowers, spiraling tendrils and stylized ruyi band. Large 'double luck' sign to both sides. The matching wooden base with the metal plaque 'Ernst Fuchs modell, Chin. Vase antic Hsien-feng 1851-1861'. Ernst Fuchs (1930-2015) was an Austrian artist and founder of the Vienna school of fantastic realism. Fuchs worked in a new, independently invented and designed by him was a style, which the artist called "fantastic realism."
