A RARE MEHRGARH SEA SHELL BELT South Asia, Pakistan, Mehrgarh (Neolithic period, c. 5500 BC). The belt consists of sea shells with one bigger rhomboidal piece in the centre and smaller, conical and well-polished pieces gently increasing in size toward the center. These kind of belt were worn by a high official or a nobleman. Condition: Very good condition, brownish patina has been removed.
