A Pair of Chinese Famille Rose Bowls Of square-sectioned form with canted corners, raised on a slightly splayed foot with, on each flat panel an auspicious symbol surrounding two archaistic dragons confronting a fiery pearl, above the dragons a gold shou character in red and pink enamels on a background of enameled formal lotus scrolls on a turquoise ground, the interior turquoise, the base with a red seal mark of Daoguang on a turquoise ground, 19th century gilt metal mounts later. Period: Daoguang (1821-1850). Length: 16.5 cm, height: 9.5 cm (without mounts).
