A Chinese Ginger Jar Of wide ovoid form, the rounded sides rising from a wide flat base, decorated in varying shades of underglaze blue with a continuous design of ladies and children at leisure in a terraced garden setting with stylised rockwork; one lady carries a string instrument, her other hand on a child’s head, another sits reading as children all around play, another holds a child in her arms, all set below swirling clouds, a band of triangle work to the base of the neck, the base glazed and with a double circle in underglaze blue.
