19th century, of rectangular form, impressively cast with carp and octopus against a wavy pattern ground, the reverse with lobster and fish, the cover decorated with clouds and stylised precious objects in relief, surmounted with a deity, probably Otohime, in ceremonial dress and two attendants, above a second rectangular cushion-shaped base, decorated with shells, held aloft by four crouching figures, each with a sea creature on their head, all on a rectangular platform supported by four cloud and scroll ball feet, cast mark of Dai Nihon koku Takekousan zo, on a rectangular stepped base with dragons, ho-o handles.
