漆画此件《鲁迅浮雕》运用仿古堆塑技法，画面呈磨砂质地，仿青铜因或“埋”或“露”所形成的斑驳锈色，是溶雕塑与绘画为一体的杰作，将鲁迅手执烟立于桌前的凝望状重现。仿古堆塑技法由福建漆艺大师李芝卿所创，以得模仿对象之风采，又不失漆艺之特色者为后世所推崇。20世纪初，李芝卿等中国漆艺先驱出国留学学习漆艺，回国后从事漆艺研究，创新了莳绘、变涂、磨绘等现代表现技法，创造出迷离斑驳、变幻莫测的肌理，为后来的现代中国漆画奠定了最根本的艺术语言表达体系。
