“臂搁”为文房用具，为文人挥毫时臂膊所枕之用。《陶雅》曰：“臂搁，剖巨竹之半成之。”竹雕以其自然形态，雕刻臂搁者颇为适合。这件臂搁取厚竹半片雕刻而成，色泽深浓黄，温和沉蕴；表面光洁，包浆浓厚，触手生凉，有玉质之感。作者不大施斧凿，仅仅以阴刻手法，在臂搁正面刻五言联一句，曰：“江山丽词赋，冰雪净聪明”，其字为篆书，圆厚拙重，气度堂皇，高古中另有一种妩媚之气韵。整件作品气韵朴厚典雅，简洁舒展，余味隽永，格外可人。释文：江山丽词赋，冰雪净聪明。
