18th/19thC Mongolian Tsung Ka Pa. Massive at 20.5 inches tall and 23 inches tall on its custom base. Superb face. Thick copper repousse, well-constructed, very solid, and in exceptional condition. Best of this type you will encounter in this size anywhere outside a museum or book. The previous owner, who lives in New York City, inherited it from a relative who purchased through an auction in Russia many years ago when a small Eastern Russian regional museum was closed down. Item 6666 on my website, one of my other all-time best Mongolian sculptures, came from the same source. This is the first time this piece is being offered, as it has been the centerpiece of my personal collection for the past decade. One of the best pieces I have ever owned and is the main picture on the homepage of my website.
