Very fine antique iron Ganesh. I believe this is an early piece, possibly from Nepal. Shows great sensitivity in sculpting and casting-very hard to get so much personality into the face of an animal god. When I first got it, a significant chunk broke off the inside and fell out. Also, there is old cracking in the sides, though the piece appears stable and not in danger of coming apart. Perhaps the finest iron sculpture I have had the pleasure of offering-ever- I have no idea how they managed to get the detail so fine- typically iron casting is usually not nearly as intricate (or have as much finesse) as this. Approx 7.5 inches tall, and 9.25 inches tall including the custom base.
