Very rare large thickly cast iron Korean Buddha. In an extremely early backless style. I believe this piece is probably 13th/15thC, though may be earlier. Extremely large for its style at 16 1/8 inches tall. Beautiful smooth, untouched patina. Missing (separately cast) hands. The bottom has a diameter of 4 1/4 inches. Very peaceful expression. You are unlikely to see another of this type in this size and quality outside a book or museum.
