A late Victorian diamond set crescent and spray brooch, c.1890, with a row of graduated old European cut diamonds, in silver cut down collets to a yellow scalloped gallery. A central sunburst or spray surround with an old European cut diamond in a cut down collet at the centre, with radiating rows of old Swiss cut diamonds. All set in silver and backed in gold. Tested as sterling silver and approximately 9ct gold. 78 x 27mm, 13.67g Condition report: Replacement roller catch. A pin point hole drilled at the gallery/underbezel join for an open jump ring, for a safety chain. Possibly originally also aigrette diamonds mixed in terms of colour and clarity. Surface reaching inclusions to some.
