A Victorian seed pearl and amethyst fringe necklace, with a series of thirteen graduated oval mixed cut amethysts, all suspended on gold wire in a landscape position. The amethysts evenly spaced throughout the row of seed pearls, strung plain to an Indian gold single row barrel shaped clasp, decorated with polychrome enamel, with a safety chain fitted. Tested as approximately 20ct gold. A case by Liberty of London. 360mm long, largest amethyst 22.30 x 16.70 x 12.20mm, 46.69g Condition report: Stringing appears recent and secure. Some loss of enamel but secure. Some marks and abrasion to the amethyst facet edges under 10x magnification. Some with small chips around a drill hole, but minor, not visible to the naked eye.
