噶當塔是佛塔的一種，其以鈴鐺狀覆缽為特色，相傳此種塔為11世紀印度高僧阿底峽入藏傳法時首次傳入，因流行於阿底峽弟子仲敦巴所創立的噶當派寺院，故俗稱“噶當塔”。 此佛塔，塔基為圓形，下飾雙層束腰仰覆蓮臺，象徵功德圓滿，塔瓶為覆缽式，塔刹為十三級相輪。塔頂華蓋以象徵吉祥的日月寶焰及瓔珞裝飾，鑲嵌寶石點綴，塔身飾精美瓔珞，細緻入微。整座佛塔工藝考究，一絲不苟，繁複華麗，金水一流，豐腴肥厚，具有極高的藝術性和收藏價值。
