Designed as a crouching frog picked out in emerald green transluscent enamel, set with 25 small 8/8-cut diamonds (in total ca. 0.22 ct), with two ruby cabochons for the eyes and holding a slightly baroque form South Sea pearl (diameter 13 mm). The finely executed, unsigned brooch is based on a model executed by Carvin French in New York, which the famous American jewellery designer Donald Clavin created for Tiffany & Co. In around 1966. Clavin became known for his colourful, original brooches based on characters from nursery rhymes and fairy tales. Dimensions 3.5 x 4.5 cm. Weight 25.99 g.
