此大鹏金翅鸟像人面鸟身，为天龙八部之一，一生以龙（毒蛇）为食，也是天国中能歌善舞的歌喉美妙的音乐舞蹈之神，《慧苑音义》指「此鸟本出雪山，在殻中即能鸣，其音和雅，听者无厌」，在佛前以乐舞供养。与一般所见的造型不同，此神鸟双手并没有握抓及咬食毒蛇，而是双手合十，侧身斜立，如同凝神屏息，倾听曼妙法音。其面相饱满圆润，双眼微微张开，额间施白亳。头戴宝冠，双耳挂大耳珰，颈戴缨络项链，身穿臂钏等饰物，装饰华美，甚为难得。
